 This is a site dedicated to the greek author Alciphron who probably lived around 200 A.D. He is the author of a collection of fictional letters supposedly written by fishermen, farmers, parasites and courtesans in the 4th century B.C. The letters are influenced by the greek new comedy and especially Menander. On this site you will find translations of the letters in English, French, German, Italian and Latin.
